Of course, by respecting basic safety procedures when driving and engaging in other activities, people can greatly reduce the chance of their surviving family members having to cash in a life insurance policy due to a premature death.
An important example of this is highway safety. Each year, thousands of people die in crashes due to distracted and impaired drivers. Less prominent in the ongoing media discussion of these issues has been aggressive driving, which has resulted in numerous tragedies nationwide over the years.
Given the dangers that aggressive driving can present to people at a moment's notice, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration website offers some tips on how people can avoid trouble and get home safely.
According to the federal agency, motorists should simply get out of the way of aggressive drivers and avoid challenging them by speeding or returning obscene gestures. It's also advisable to wear a seat belt at all times and to avoid even making eye contact with such drivers.
